Create a Facebook Fundraiser

Creating a Facebook fundraiser is easy and it’s a great way to encourage others to support something close to your heart. This can be done anytime! Many chose to do it on their birthdays.

Donate Goods & Materials

You can donate nearly anything to help support our work. We can always use construction materials for the homes we build.

Our ReStores exist to generate revenue for our mission and they can accept everything from household items and furniture to appliances and work out equipment. If you have two or more large items, you can even have it picked up by calling (850) 215-2289 or clicking here to self-schedule.

Include Us In Your Will

Leave an impactful legacy by designating funds from your estate to support our work. Naming us to receive all or a portion of your estate through your will is easy. In doing so, you may reduce estate taxes while supporting our work. Simple wording like the below is easy to add to a will.

“I gift, devise and bequest $_______________ (or a percentage of my estate, or detailed description of property, or the rest, residue and remainder of my assets) to Habitat for Humanity of Bay County, Florida, a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Florida”.

Without a will, you lose control of the possessions you worked a lifetime to acquire. If you don’t have a will there are several worthy sites and do it yourself forms. A popular free site that makes creating a will simple is freewill.com

Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD)

A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year too, as long as certain rules are met. You can direct up to $100,000 from your traditional IRA to charity tax-free. This option is open to donors age 70½ and older who have a traditional IRA, and it counts toward their Required Minimum Distribution, the amount a person over that age must withdraw each year. Traditional IRA funds are not subject to income tax when given directly to charity.

A QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare. Also, QCDs don’t require that you itemize, which due to the recent tax law changes, means you may decide to take advantage of the higher standard deduction, but still use a QCD for charitable giving.

This might be right for you if:

• • • You are 70½ or older.
    • You want to make a qualified charitable gift from your traditional IRA to reduce the value of future distributions you will be required to take.
    • You wish to make an impactful gift
    • You wish to remove up to $100,000 from your taxable estate.

Real Estate & Land

Mortgage-free homes, buildings, or land can be gifted to us at its fair market value determined by a qualified appraisal enabling the donor to receive a charitable deduction and avoid capital gains taxes. We are always in need of land to build on and we’re able to rehab homes too.

Employer Matching

Many employers will match employees giving up to a certain amount. Whenever you give be sure to check with your employer on any match programs. It’s usually a simple & easy form for you to make the match request.

Stocks & Bonds

Gifts of securities that are highly appreciated may be gifted to enable the donor to deduct the full fair market value as a charitable contribution, thus avoiding capital gains tax on the appreciation.

In Honor Of (friend or family member)

Giving a gift in honor of a friend or family member is more impactful than that gift you’re unsure they will even use. Knowing a gift was made in their honor warms the heart. Provide us with the honoree contact info and we will send them notice of the gift made in their name. This is a great way to give during the holidays when you don’t know what to get. If you prefer, we can even send the letter to you to give them yourself.

In Memory Of (individual who has passed)

When writing an obituary, consider adding an option to give in memory of yourself or a family member in lieu of flowers. People appreciate the ability to give to whatever charity that special person held close to their heart.
